This is something odd I came across while rummaging through old things in my parent's loft..
Found a copy of Electronics and Wireless World Feb '87 with a small project on building a stable power supply for Laser-diodes including for CD players and uses the Philips CD100 (CDM0 / CDM1) laser as an example.
Might be very interesting for someone either thinking their laser is dead (when it's actually the supply dead) or for someone wanting to upgrade or tinker to keep their's going for longer...
I'll scan it tomorrow for people interested (fast running out of time today).
A brief scan of it also implies the replacement of the original laser with a Sharp Laser-diode, but maybe that is what was used in the first place.
