Hello everyone. My name is Simon and I'm from Southwest Scotland.

My system has been built up over a long period of time and I'm nearly very happy with it. It comprises a Linn LP12 turntable with Ittok arm and Dynavector cartridge, a Cairn Fog CD player, Audio Research Ref 3 pre-amp, Gamut D200 mk3 power amp and Martin Logan speakers. All of it was second-hand except the cartridge so I have a high-end system at a fraction of the original cost.

I'm really looking for an Audio Research CD5 CD player to replace the Cairn.

Hi Simon and welcome to AoS. The Audio Research is a nice CD player (I used to have their transport) but I've never heard of the Cairn Fog, I'm afraid!

Hi Simon, welcome to AoS from me as well :) Nice kit you have there, I run an Audio Research pre-amp as well, very similar to yours though it's multichannel (ARC MP1).
