Hi, I'm "mannish boy" (really name Patrick, I just like that tune!). I'm also a member of PFM using the same username. I've always been into music, learning to play guitar at an early age and I'm in to all types of music, though I especially like jazz and blues. I caught the hifi bug in my teens listening to my dad's Rega Planner 3, NAD amp, KEF speakers (which I blew-up) and Sennheiser headphones. I don't hold any pretensions about liking hifi as a hobby, I enjoy messing about with the kit as much as I like listening to music.

I haven't got the time to go through all the equipment I've owned but my current system includes:

CD - Cyrus CDTSE going into a Audiolab MDAC
Amp - SAC Glowmaster KT88 (I think the chap I bought this from is on here)
Speakers - modified Magneplanner MMGs

I also have a new vinyl front end but I haven't been able to try it yet. A Garrard 401 (off being serviced by Martin Bastin), SME M2-12 and a PS Audio GCPH phonostage (being checked over by the distributor because it sounded too noisy to me even if the shop doesn't think there's anything wrong with it!). I'll be making the plinth myself, so I'll be looking for ideas...

Hi Patrick, a warm welcome to AoS for you to :) Must be something in the air as you are the second person to mention PFM in an introductory thread this evening :eyebrows:

Well at least I know what I'm going to be listening to when this CD ends, as I like a bit of PFM myself

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

Valves with Maggies  Hmmm, never thought about it previously but the fairly flat impedance should make them quite driveable :)

Bests to you!
