Hi Ken,

Got it, mate. However, you'll have to wait for a detailed answer, as I'm up to my eyes in it at the moment :)

Marco.

And what was the question? :)

"Hello Marco, I've been enjoying the information in this site which resulted in my ordering the PR3 module from Mr. Hynes to DIY a SR5-21 clone. It hasn't yet arrived but I'm thinking of other roads to cross. The Mike New bearing may come down the road, when my retirement budget allows.

In the meantime I've thought about upgrading the arm to a Jelco 750DB which I think you once used. Can you explain how much it differs from the stock arm in terms of its ability to reproduce sound? My arm has been re-wired with Cardas tonearm wire and Neotech silver interconnects so that may make a difference.

Also, I've read - but can not find by searching - that a fellow named Steve makes Ebony armboards. Can you point me to him, please?

Thanks, Ken (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)"

Lol... Ken, here's the easy bit, regarding the ebony armboard, until I get a chance to answer your main question properly:

Thanks Marco. God that armboard is beautiful!

Isn't it just? And trust me, it improves the sound of the partnering tonearm, as much as it does the looks of the T/T! ;)
