I mean seriously, what's the point!
Tried to buy and HD version of Seal's 'best of' album on HD Tracks and got this message:
Based on your territory as determined by your IP address, we are unable to sell you this album due to restrictions imposed on us by the record label.
He's bloody English for %$£@& sake!
Not happy.

It might be a bit slower, but you might find something like TorBrowser helps.

Strange, I've D/L'd loads of stuff from them, using an e-maill address with '.uk' on the end of it. I pay by PayPal, which might help - how did you offer to pay? If all else fails I'm happy to D/L it for you and pass it on by DropBox or similar - I'm not a fan of Seal so there's nothing in it for me.

It's got nothing to do with Paypal or email addresses and everything to do with your IP address http://whatismyipaddress.com/ - you need some way of obscuring this, either via a Proxy or something like Tor which bounces your traffic around the internet so the site at the other end can't tell where it originated. Hence my earlier post ;)

Yep, I've run into the same problem myself with other HD content from them. Got round it though, used a torrent to download it for free. That way everyone's happy. Record co keep control of their territorial copyright and I keep my hard earned cash.!!!
When will those idiots at the record companies learn????? Honestly you couldn't write it!!!!!
On the subject of using a avoidance proxy, do you really want to pass on your credit card or PayPal details to an unknown third party?? I know I wouldn't but then network security is my job! Trust me, anything you send via one of these proxies is being captured by the owner :(

No it's still there but their indexing/cataloguing is rubbish and the only way to find it is using the 'Warner Music Group Store' link on the left hand side and scrolling through the list until you reach it.

As you say, this wasn't to do with payment but defo IP, as the message popped up as soon as I tried to add it to my basket, not when I came to pay.
Not just this album though, tried a couple of other, so it looks like and attempt to block the UK completely, and this is defo a change because I've bought albums before OK, last one was on the 8th Jan.
This does make me cross though. I'm trying to purchase high-res music legitimately, at a not inconsiderable cost and I'm being blocked. I just don't see why I should have to cock about the 'IP Cloaking Devices' in order to BUY some bloody music!!

For me this is just saying how record companies are still kicking and screaming being dragged into this century and as Steve implies this may actually encourage people seeking illegal downloads because they cannot get hold of legal downloads

Well exactly John.
Of course I want to obtain music legally. I enjoy it an don't begrudge those involved in that process to earn a wage, but if trying to do so is blocked and there are 'alternatives' then it's easy to see why people take them.
This is even more annoying that iTunes feeling it's OK to charge CD prices for a fraction of the data and quality just because it's 'convenient'......
Need to get off my angry soapbox before we go out for lunch.
Oh and thanks for the kind offer Paul, much appreciated, but it was specifically the high-res 24bit version I was after.

I've had well over 20 downloads from HDT, and while I've generally been pleased with the audio content, the tagging has been crap, and as has been said before the search is worse than a chocolate teapot.
Logging in today I was asked to complete my postal address fields, which when I was truthful about where I came from, prevented the account update from working.
I can't be arsed to use a proxy or try anything else to get their downloads. Such a blinkered attitude :mental: - they deserve to fail. I'll take my download business elsewhere, and just buy more vinyl too . .

It will take a while to lay to wrest the media companies from their iron grip on the distributor as to what may be distributed and to where, but it will happen, eventually. Said the same thing 20 years ago....
