How do Timestep and Mike New bearings differ?

You've had the chance to see the picture of both bearings? If not, just take a short look on them... You'll have the answer.

They do have one thing in common, they both have a separate ball bearing , the OEM bearing is a single shaft , so both introduce an additional boundary surface , compared to the stock bearing .

Also Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Blue Nun both contain grapes. :eyebrows:

I'm considering a bearing upgrade and can't justify the MN so will be going for the Vantage Audio option instead.

The Mike New bearing doubles as an in home security weapon. After which time, it can be placed back in the 1200, with no change to the stellar sonics it provides.

Having used both the TS bearing and the MN bearing in my sl1200 it is quite obvious that the MN is a major improvement. The TS bearing uses the standard bearing which is modified. The MN bearing is engineered from the ground up. That is the difference and you can hear the improvement.
