View Full Version : AoS Branding...

Had an idea tonight that may or may not be viable. AoS has a big presence on the interweb these days and amongst the various hifi forums it is a very distinguishable brand. We also have quite a few members who design equipment. Most have their own companies to service, but having said that many of these members have offered unique designs and modifications for members to build or incorporate into their own equipment exclusively on AoS.

If these members are amenable we could harness their designs to offer a small range of products with 'Art Of Sound' branding. If it is successful the profits for this venture could go towards funding further product development, the AoS show or other AoS related projects. It would need to be handled sensitively of course because we don't want to be treading on the toes of successful and established businesses, but if we choose the product line carefully so as not to directly compete with their prime ventures, I think it could be workable.

The germ of this idea grew out of my self-enforced break. We are all very passionate about music and we are all struggling to put together systems that render music accurately, or as accurately as possible. This passion sometimes leads to disagreements, however we all have the same goal in mind. So I thought, why not bring together some of the highly regarded mods and designs that have been offered to AoS members exclusively under the Art Of Sound brand, for the benefit of all. After all many of these projects have been developed by members, for members, right here on AoS

An obvious starting point would be the Techie SL mods. These could be highly marketable if offered as kits with an extensive manual. I invite members thoughts on this idea, particularly from those members who have contributed designs and mods to AoS in the past

As it happens Chris it was this product that persuaded me that the idea had legs ;)

Sorry for the leading question, but is that amp considered any good?

I would imagine so for it to have "our" brand on it.

Well certainly some AoS name badges would be nice to use at shows so members could recognise one another.

I'd ask Tabatha to design some 'special' ones... They may have a bondage theme :eyebrows:

As everyone knows - I listen to music wearing nothing but my underpants, so I am sure my listening pleasure would be enhanced wearing an AoS design.

Such a designer brand would be expensive as the material would have to be de-ionised, de-gaussed and woven taking into account the directionality of the thread. And of course they could only be cleaned using a solution of 10% ethyl alcohol (or maybe very good vodka!)

I would prefer them to be in black - to reflect my political leanings.

Noted. At your age, does sir also require an absorbent panel built-in?

No, I still have an enormously strong bladder and complete control of my sphincter.

No need to ask me on which side I 'dress' either.

Gosh, don't take me back to my days of working in the gents department of Frasers department store in Glasgow...

We used to fix 3-inch long bits of metal to the ends our tape measures, when doing inside leg measurements, making the ends of them extra-stiff, so we could poke the tape measure 'in position' and keep our hands well away from folk's 'danglies', and giving the gay boys a thrill!!

Didn't stop some of them coming in to be 'measured', however, on a rather too frequent basis...

O naturally all brown with Orange trim :eyebrows:

I'm intrigued by your semi naked Underpant listerning sessions as i also do the same thing, it is good to let things breathe, but i must say ive been know to get a slight perky on at times :D

Maybe we could consider a special AOS underpant listerning room as part of the proposed bake off? :eyebrows:

Now that might be a step too far - I'm not sure the world is ready to see Marco wearing his silky undies, suspender-belt and stockings!

I got some "Where's Wally" undercrakers for Christmas i have amused myself no end by dropping my trousers and asking guests if they wanted to play "Where's Wally"

Perhaps we could have some made with all different valves printed all over them and play a simular same game like "spot the KT88", it certainly makes an ice breaker

Another vote for "T" shirts from me

Haha - I say these things just to be provocative (though there is some grain of truth)! The truth of the matter is I don't wear underpants at all!

How about AoS socks? They could come as mis-matched pairs to satisfy those members who subscribe to the Beltist's school of philosophy.

I only wear (10 denier Elbeo barely black) stockings, so that's a no-no, for me.
