Hey Dan,
So the 34/306 isn't as good as the 33/303? Maybe try different combos and see which pre and which amp are the better combo? I've been interested in the Quad amps for a while, just never got out of the valve world. I'd be interested in impressions of the differences between the 303 and 306.
Must admit, had 33/303,44/405,and 34/306,out of them all the only ones that didnt float my doobries was the 34/306

Hi
I absolutly adore the 33 & 303 so classic and retro and the sound it produces is simply stunning. i havent used the 34 & 306 enough yet. after work today will probobly get the tunes flowing. PS Wilbur did you recive the cd's yet?.

Hi Dan -
Hope you're well. Good to see new toys coming into the Smith household! As a 303/33 user/owner, I'd also be interested in any contrasts / comparisons you can make with the newer kit.
Keep us posted!
(Update p.s. Have just read your I.C. post - surely you must be tempted to keep them as a second system - bedroom, kitchen etc.?)

Hi
On listening tests i have found vocals seem to beam through excellent for jazz and classical. There is just enough bass but could be a bit more punchie like the 33/303. some say its a clynical sound which i like because vocals seem neutral and crisp. Overall i like this combo partnerd with the right source and speakers they are driving my nad 8225 speakers very nicely.
im still diciding weather to sell or not as would be good to have 2 quad amps in the flat. but if needs must i will part with it i have been offered the top ebay price for them which is £300.
Hi Dan!
Cd's arrived safe and sound mate, sorry, forgot to let you know!
I thin you just nailed what I thought about the 34/306,to me it sounded just a bit too lean..
I'm with the 33/303 but do lurv the 33/50E/50E
Hmmm - maybe I ought to dig out my 50E's to try with my '57s again.
