I've decided to take a break from vinyl - not sure how long it'll be for but a. I'm hardly using my turntable and b. I'm actually really enjoying my computer audio stuff at the moment, and just love the convenience of it - somewhat important with young children in the house when there's hardly any time to do much serious listening.
So, to that end, I'm putting my modded Tecchie up for sale. This one's been upgraded in a fairly gentle fashion - nothing radical, but just with bits'n'bobs which make a big difference but for not much outlay. I had no plans to go any further with it.
Here's the list of mods (with the new prices of each bit):
TimeStep HE II psu: £450
Vantage Audio bearing: £89 (£60)
Vantage Audio feet: £25 (£60)
KAB fluid arm damper: $140 (give or take, plus any import duties) (£50)
Funk Firm Achromat 1200: £75 (£45)
Sumiko headshell wires: £18
I also have a brand new 1210 arm which as never been fitted - this won't be included but available separately: £39 (£28)
Bearing in mind the cost of a good clean 1210 (and this one is in very nice nick - the lid has a lot of polishing swirls on it though) would be itro £200 I'd be prepared to accept £575 for the whole lot which I feel is a good price for the performance available.
I won't be splitting the deck/psu as the deck as its original psu has been removed. Preference will be given to those who wish to buy the full package, and I'll only split the other bits if there's no interest. I'd sell the deck/psu on its own for £450 I've inserted prices for the separate bits in brackets above.
Local pick-up is much preferred as I don't have the box for it but would deliver within a 100 mile radius if Sleaford Lincs for £20's worth of fuel.
