Well it really depends if you like what you hear in the Nordost sound, but these I found them particularly good at reproducing voices plus all the usual high-bandwith sound. :)

Not looking to start an argument or anything, I just find it difficult to swallow how much some manufacturer's charge for a bit of wire and some banana plugs. Have you heard any of the Tellurium stuff? If so, how does the Nordost compare?

Not a problem; sure it is not only the material but the technology involved to develop an item that makes most of the price.
Yes I had the chance to hear the Tellurium and they tend to have a very "flat" bandwith, which makes it up for a very comfortable listen, while still sounding open.
Nordost are very precise and sometimes too "exact" but detail retrieval is very high and in the right system you won`t change it for anything else.

Thanks, interesting. I have some TQ black I bought secondhand, and I agree with your assessment. It sounds good with the Visaton B200 full rangers on my OB's, a nice open sound with no emphasis of any frequency.

I appreciate a lot of the cost is down to R&D, but still... :D
