I operate my business from a warehouse in West Lancs and since i spend a great deal of time there I have my own sound system for music as I work.
The system occupies a tiny corner of the warehouse next to my office and plays music 7 days per week for at least eight hours... often more.
I started with a budget of £50 per component and have had some great fun with cheap kit. Sadly the budget restraint has slackened over time but the fun just keeps on coming.

I have several pairs of speakers for use at work but currently I am greatly enjoying my Martin Logan Scenarios. I hated the sound they made when they first arrived and Jerry described them as 'numb' when he had a pair. I was forced to agree but struggled on and learned that they are VERY set up fussy and need a huge length of time to settle in. The logans now sound utterly FAB. So clear, so transparent, so beautiful that when they wear out I will be buying a bigger pair. Strongly recomended if you have the patience to work with them until they start to work with you.

My analogue front end is all new to me. Ive been using a Pink triangle TT but we didnt get along so I've had a complete change to a VPI HW19 with the heavy platter option, Roksan Nima and Ortofon Rondo Bronze. Yummy!
This is now sounding superb, though the Nima does remind me of just how flimsy and hard to use unipivots can appear until you get used to them.

The Nima's counterweight is hanging off the back trying to balance out the Rondo..... I think I'll ask Speedy Steve if he'll consider making me a heavier one.

It's so worth spending money, if you can, on a decent cartridge. The Rondo Bronze was worth every penny. Cheaper MMs just didnt cut it for me.

More details of my digital front ends and amps later. All comments welcome.;):eyebrows::)

Hi Al,
thanks for taking an interest. My home system is much less fluid both too please my partner and protect delicate kit from our young children!

I use a Wadia 830 into Roksan monoblocs and then into Sonus Faber Grand Pianos. Its a great sounding system it has to be said, though when the Wadia packs up I'll be thinking hard about a sreaing solution. We'll see.
