Hi, just joined the art of sound after my brother recommended it. My name is Steve and I have been into audio for a long time but not at the level as some of the people i have seen on here! My system has been built up and changed over the years, the only thing that hasn't changed are my Paradigm Monitor 7's which i love. I am forever changing things and when i can afford it i will try and get an upgrade. After listening to my brothers new system i will have been convinced that is is time to change all of my power cables and interconnects and i will go from there.

My taste in music is quite varied, i will give anything a go and if i like something i can listen to it again and again, and with every upgrade i here something i haven't heard before. When i get a chance i will post a few picks of my system.

Hi Steve and welcome to AoS. Photos will be most welcome. Paradigm are big in the USA but I don't often come across them here.

IMO your money might be better spent on some new kit. What have you got. Don't believe the hype about cables. Been there, done that malarkey.....T-Shirt.

A different viewpoint here says that attending to your power arrangements will reap far better rewards than upgrading your components. Get that done first.

Ha ha, welcome to the world of hi fi and all of the opinons that come with it :eyebrows:

It's been interesting because Steve (my brother) has seen my system change and grow. A lot of the change has been influenced by what I've learnt on here.

He's seen the difference some good power cables can make (I took a MCRU shotgun cable to his and used it on the Sky HD box, the improvement was not insignificant), not to invalidate anyone else's comments.

Steve, Gizmo's been posted here, I hope you don't mind!

Hi guys, and thanks for the warm welcome, i have updated my profile with most of the kit that i am running. The Paradigm presence isn't that big over here but i love them all the same and i have been running them for a number of years now. The system is geared more for watching films but i am really getting back into just sitting and listening to music. I am lucky that my wife works in the film industry (Paramount Pictures) so i get access to a LOT of films.

Next project for me is understanding my new amp and then i am thinking of building a sub!:)
