Hello forum,

I am having my first visit to Paris and not really being clued up on parisien food or wine. Do the members here have any advice on what's hot and what's not to try. Thanks in advance

Hi Glen,

If no-one else replies to this, PM Peter Stockwell, who lives in Paris and is somewhat of a gourmet and bon vivant (much like myself), and he'll keep you right!

Marco.

Hi Glen,

I like this one http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187147-d2100136-Reviews-Chalet_Savoyard-Paris_Ile_de_France.html

Serves nice food from the Savoie region of France - fondue, tartiflette etc.

Perfect if it's cold out!

But only if you like cheese...

Have a great trip,

Martin

A good place to ask for recommendations is the Slow Travel forum. They have their feet on the ground and give good advice for local places based on experience from people who likes culture and food:

Chowhound might also gives some good advice, a bit more obsession with details there:

If you go more for the gourmet route, you might try eGullet:
