He doesn't say if based on a known kit design so how can anybody tell. Could be £60 of firewood.

I'd have gone for it. My current speakers (Victor SX7) were a 15 euro punt of french ebay (Plus a bottle of rather nice wine for delivery). They've ousted Audio Physics, Celestion A1s and Lowther Fideilios from main room duties.
You never know unless you try..
You could talk the price down.
I thought this was a more subjective forum rather than dismissing horn tweeters available from Farnell out of hand on objective grounds.. (a little joke).
