Nice to be joining this area!

I am a guy from Sweden with a genuine interest in music and reproduction of the same. My taste in music is very broad and my Mendelsohn LP's are sharing the same space as Metallica.

I predominantly enjoy listening to vinyl LP's even if a have a decent CD-player. The CD player however, is rarely used as i prefer the digital audio coming through my Mac Mini with iTunes and Amarra. The music is stored on a NAS in AIFF format and the Mac is connected via ethernet cable. This setup is controlled using an iPad with Apple Remote, beatiful function!

At the very moment my music room has got four turntables;
Thorens TD-800 w. Rega RB-250/Michell Technoweight and a Benz Micro Glider L2
Heybrook TT2 w. Rega RB-250 with Denon DL-103
Thorens TD-125 w. SME 3009 S2 Impr. with Ortofon OM2 Black
and finally a Technics SL-150 MkII with an SME Series III and for the moment a Sumiko Pearl.

For my MC PU's i use a Tom Evans MC RIAA and for the MM's i have a Lehmann Audio Black Cube.

The digital Audio from my computers are converted into the analog domain using either a Benchmark DAC1 or a Zero DAC 09 Version. The digital signal is converted from USB to SPDIF using a M2Tech HiFace.

If i do play some CD's i have a Marantz SA15-S1 SACD player for this purpose.

Most of the time my sources are volume controlled using a Xindak XA-3200 MkII tube based pre amp. (I sometime use the Benchmark as a balanced Pre)

Amplification is done with a Bladelius Balder power amp and cabled to the speakers using either DIY twisted monofilament copper cables or Harmonic Tech Pro-11 Plus.

And finally, turning signal into air vibration;
Dali 40SE, massive danish beasts weighing in at around 70Kg a piece, four 8" woofers and two 4" and a ScanSpeak 2905/97000 soft dome tweeter. Interesteing construction as they are both closed enclosure and bass reflex!
Audio Physic Tempo V, beautiful sleek german speakers with all the transparency of good stand mount speakers but with the added bottom of 2 side mounted 7" woofers per speaker.
Snell E/III, great allrounder i would say!
and finally Monitor Audio GS10 on GS Stands, really entertaining speakers!

I also listen a lot using head phones so i have a DIY Lehmann Audio Black Cube Linear Clone which sounds absolutely fabulous, sometimes replaced by a Little Dot MkIII tube head phone amp. (At the moment using Mullard 8161 as driver tubes). The headphones are Sennheiser HD-650, Denon AH-D2000 and my absolute favourites; Denon AH-D7000.

Great to meet you all!

BR /Micke

Yes, was going to say, good choice in cars! I used to have a 166. Still the best car I've had by a country mile.

Hi Micke and welcome to AOS; you will find this is a really friendly bunch...

The Bladelius amp you have: is this the company formerly known as "Advantage"? I remember listening to some of their amps (S250's if I remember correctly) back in the day - really, really good kit. Are they still in business?

A further salute to you as a fellow Alfa enthusiast...Used to drive a 1973 2000 GTV - loved it to bits but, god, what a nightmare to own. The two happiest days in my life was when I bought it and when I sold it....:D

Thanks guys! Feeling very welcomed!

Vouk, yes you're absolutely right!
The brand Advantage actually is called Bladelius nowadays and they are definently in business! I think the company's name have been Bladelius Design Group all along. This particular model, the Balder, is power amp of about 2*165watts claimed but in reality it is a behemoth delivering well over that. The transformer is a 1,8KVA unit for example... :eek:

And i somehow understand the "two happiest days" scenario! :lol:

I have just bought a 164 Super. Will be picking it up on Friday.

Is it the V6 version Ali?

I'm still trying to persuade my wife to get shot of her A class and get a Mito

Yes, all the Supers are 3.0 V6. This one is a '93 so is the facelifted model with the 24 valve engine. I used to have a 166 T Spark and it was the best car I've had by a country mile. Always wanted the V6 Busso engine, it's generally thought of as the best V6 ever made. I'm flying down to London on Friday to pick her up. Here's a pic-

Aye, but I've taken out breakdown insurance just in case!

It's been well looked after but it's only done 5.5k since 2007!
