Hello - I'm Stuart, I got into to hifi as a kid with an incurable desire to take things apart and put them back together again - usually with a few extra bits left over.

My first ever stereo was inherited from my auntie, A Sony all in one music centre (70's record deck, tape radio) It went with me to university where I turned it into a sculpture (electrocuted myself in the process by nailing the guts to a lump of drift wood)

My first real amp was from notting hill, a NAD 3020a for £15 and a pair of Leak Sandwich (13" drivers) which cost a whopping £40 (a lot of haggling went down on that) and a Beogram 1200 (£15) - great enjoyment
From there it went valve >Arion Adonis with Castle Chesters & Micromega Stage 4 >KEL34 World Audio Kit Castle Yorks/Proac 150s/ Proac Mini Towers >Bill Beard BB100a with Proac Studio 200s Meridian 563 DAC Teac VRDS 7, Wadia 12, Audio Aero Capitole 24/192 > Aloia 13.01 with induction PSU >Nuforce 9v2 SE monos >Bantam Gold Monos with Tsakiridis Valve Pre.

Most stuff has been fiddled with (capacitors mainly) Best mod ever>putting V-Caps in my Audio Aero. Luckiest mod ever>changing drivers in Proac studio 200s and rebuilding crossover. Worse mod ever>changing 1uf caps in Aloia 13.01:inserting input stage and forgot it was on(never learn)=load bang white flash dead amp - induction PSU still ok.

I live in Athens(since 2000) and work as a 3d creative head for an agency in London from my studio at home.

Music taste varied from classical/chamber psychedelic to techno.

Hello to everyone

Welcome to the forum! :) There seems to be a good environment for Hifi enthusiasts in Greece. How is your NuForce amp sounding? Saw a good review of that one.

The NuForces were sounding excellent - my particular models however suffered from a dodgy batch of dc-dc convertors and are currently at the menders - since then I have been running Bantam Gold monos and I ain't missing the NFs - they really are that good

Hi Stuart. Welcome to our world.
You have the same broad tastes as me as I sing with the local Choral Society, but also love Hawkwind and can be seen boogieing away at Prodigy gigs :)
