After several previous serious and interesting posts (Barry's above acknowledged), the shallow drift away is a pity. It would be good to get back to the serious discussion on feedback etc. which was most informative. The return to that subject would be best acheived if those who don't know what they are talking about abstained. Sorry, contraversial, but there certainly was some ignorant input. I very much enjoy reading the posts from the knowledgable. Others can easily spoil it. Oh dear, so quickly going to where I was a couple of years ago which caused me to leave! Shame.
Some people just seem to have a sense of humour failure, i may not be very technical but i DO know the difference beteween what sounds good and what doesn't feedback or not so please don't tell me off like a naughty little School boy, i need to unwind here and not be wound up i have work and the tax man for that
You have a little button in your user cp marked "edit Ignore list" i suggest you use it

In Greg's defence, I have known him personally for many years, and while he can post a bit robustly sometimes, he's a great bloke in person!

I think he just found the feedback conversation interesting & wanted more along the same lines, these things can be a bit frustrating as I'm sure most are aware. In all honesty the thread looks to have massively deviated from Pork pies which isn't frankly surprising :eyebrows:
I'd welcome a feedback thread that was more dedicated to audio feedback than pie mixtures in all honesty :D

Oh no doubt about that, mate. I've never had a problem with Greg in person. On the contrary, like you say, he's a great bloke. We just don't seem to 'click' on forums, and he always seems to want AoS to become a place that it will never be...
If Greg wants a sedate, regimented forum, where everything stays rigidly on-topic, then he should stick to the WD forum - if it still exists? Or perhaps audio-talk, where Nick runs things a little differently.
However, I'd like Greg to stick around, as I value his input, but it has to be on our terms, not his. If he wants to be here, he just has to accept the way that AoS is, and get on with it.

Yup, I've read some of the thread drift that goes on there :eyebrows:

While i can emphasise with Greg's distress regarding the puerile schoolboy humour, (not that I personally would stoop to such a level) I'm not totally convinced "feedback" from a load of drunken middle aged, probably deaf men who may only have spent a few minutes listening to a system in less than optimal conditions is worth much more than the dodgy humour. :)

Sod it! - all this thread drift concerning 'feedback' is spoiling the original thread which is about pork pies.
To get this thread back on topic I'm going to have to now eat a pork pie whilst I sit around in my 'shreddies' listening to some 'choons'!

Hi Darren,
No chance. It won't be until at least next year. There's lots of planning needed first to get it right, so we'll be taking our time to ensure that things run as smoothly as possible and learning from the mistakes made when other shows have been organised.
It *will* happen, though, so watch this space for news!
