John Peel’s record collection, described as “one of the most revered record collections in the world”, will soon be made available as part of an interactive online museum, funded by the BBC and the Arts Council. Very interesting Bob. Like many I suspect, JP was a hero of mine. (If you've got the time to wade through it and are interested there are a lot of links to JP shows etc. in this thread (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4386))

It will be very interesting to see how this project materialises, but it looks like it is only going to run from May to October according to the press release? - which would be a real shame as something like this should be in perpetuity in my opinion...

Indeed Alex. His show was required listening. He played some weird stuff (for me), but always gave the music the same respect no matter what, and never talked over the ends! A musician's DJ, a real one-off. Let's hope this project does get a longer life . .
