Please remind me - Sample rate of iPlayer audio

I think the sampling rate of iPlayer audio is 44.1kHz - as on the BBC iPlayer HD streams, but is there a way to check this? I'm thinking in particular of BBC Radio 3.

The sampling rate of the audio on some of the satellite TV channels - could be higher at 48kHz, though the bit rate for the compressed audio might be lower (256kbps vs 320 kbps).

You could try downloading an iPlayer show or movie with one of the available 3rd-party downloaders (eg. iPlayer+ for Mac) and getting the info through Quicktime or something.

I downloaded "Severance" and it reports as 44.1kHz AAC audio, but no bitrate that I can find.

"Severance" is worth watching btw - very gory but funny to match. :)
