Bothers an ex DJ getting his two 1210's out the loft to have a play again.
Sure its a mid life crisis :)

They both need a service.
One needs a new headshell fitted, the other needs the arm repaired/replaced because (as he describes it to me) the pivot point at the back of the arm is broken?

Probably a replacement arm if that cant be fixed.

Anyways, he's looking to have a chat with someone over what he needs and I said I would put a shout out online if anyone knows of anywhere/anyone near him where he can get his 1210's fixed.

He's in Chichester, PO18 area, WAAAY down south.

Thanks for any suggestions guys.

VantageAudio in Taunton, Somerset is maybe not very close, but they should be able to fix the most stuff on the Techie have I heard.

I am indeed, Chris. The deck came with it but the stylus was knackered so I've got a Jico SAS for it. I've been on a bit of cartridge buying spree (I also have an SL7 to use them on) and have 10 at the moment including two HOMC (Ortofon and Sony), an OM40, a nice sounding Empire, an LPGear AT with a Shibata, a Technics 540, a Stanton, a Shure and an AT92E. So I have plenty of choice :D

I've going for the full monty with Richard, including feet, external PS and copper platter.

Actually it was you who brought me to AoS as Google turned up your thread on Vantage and your QL1. I'd found Vantage's quirky website and wanted to find some customer experiences. As you mentioned Richard's a great guy, really genuine, and tries hard not to sell you stuff you might not need. A refreshing change these days!

Hi Gaz,

Nothing wrong with Vantage, but if Richard's too busy, and you want another option, there's also The Deck Doctor in London: http://www.myspace.com/deck_doc
