Mark Grant Cu to Ag

Hello all.

I'm upping from the G2000HD Cu (Copper) to the G2000HD Ag (Silver) Interconnect cable and should be with me very soon.

I really enjoy the Cu version and this is intended in no way to cast the Cu version as inferior so fear not chaps.. it's a curiosity I feel would be nice to try.

This cable will be from pre to power.

I've heard lots of praise for this silver combination so I'll let you know my findings.

I've just gone down this path but Mark also loaned me some Oyaide 510s to try. I've just posted my findings here http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15554. (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15554) In summary, I didn't notice a great difference between the copper and silver plugged versions, but then I didn't spend a lot of time comparing them. I was just smitten by the Oyaides and that's what I've gone for now. They're a lot better for my tastes.

My view would be to put the better cable closer to your source rather than between pre/power, or am I missing something? :)

Well, it's horses for courses me thinks.. different systems, different rooms, different ears, different music etc... It's what makes hifi not only confusing and frustrating sometimes but also fun :)

I have always started cable upgrades from pre-power first to get a good idea what the source components are pushing out and what the pre and power sound with the different link, a much easier way imo and much less confusing.

Changing the source leads after makes much more sense to me... again, we are all different. :)

Well all I can say is these are the best i/c's I've tried so far. Agree his claims are a bit over the top, but the proof of the pudding is in the listening.

I have to agree with Marco's findings on the Ag version of the MG G2000HD Ag IC's in comparason to the MG G2000HD Cu IC's, OU812 M8, they are R8 good. lol

Ali, you know me, this is no criticism at all, I'm just curious.
Given that you know what you're 'about' on the subject of audio, and the fact that you find his claims a bit OTT, what was it that persuaded you to invest some of your hard earned beer tokens in the first place? - was it just curiosity or were they recommended to you by another user?
Like I say, I'm just curious as to what made you overcome your resistance to his OTT claims.

I didn't get them initially form that seller, I bought three pairs from a member here on a whim, and cos I got a good price!

I susequently bought one from the seller in order to have a complete set in the audio chain.

I still say they are the best i/c's I've tried so far. They knock the Belkins into a cocked hat. The guy offers sale or return, so all it will cost to try them is the postage.
