As means of introduction, I'd like to say hi to all posters & readers of theartofsound.net
I originally came here for info about mounting a Jelco SA-D750 tonearm to a technics SL-1200 MKII and reviews on various cartridges. I still consider myself a novice amateur in the art of sound, but a very appreciative one nonetheless.
In the previous year I upgraded my set-up for digitally recording my vinyl collection containing of mostly european disco: f.i. italian sigla tv series 7'', cosmic & french library stuff, spanish vocal disco, german campy eurodisco etc, etc
My recording set-up is from start to end:
- Denon Dl-103r retipped with nude-contact line tip with boron cantilever
- Jelco SA-D750 tonearm with stock headshell
- Technics SL-1200 MKII turntable with custom mountingplate for tonearm
- Herbie's Audiolab Way Excellent turntable mat
- PS Audio GCPH phono preamp
- Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP audio interface
- stock computer with TB's of space for all those heavyweight 96Khz/24bit files
(- VPI HW16.5 record washing machine)
At the moment I am very happy with my current set-up, and I'd like to think like that for some time to come (no more 'investments' for now ;)
So I'll probably keep on reading here now and then, not too often. And perhaps contribute where I feel it is of significance.
Thanks for reading!
Mark
