How times have changed for the worse

I've been watching a six part thing called 'Call The Midwife'

What i notice on there & even noticed when a was a young un was everyone helped everyone out back then, these days everyone looks after each other, very selfish society..you can't blame lack of money & hard times cos they were very hard times back then..

One of my pet hates is selfish folk.

Oh I dunno Andr'e. When I was born in '57, ONLY ONE of my Dad's large family offered to help my Mum (her family were hundreds of miles away) with me.. All the others were too busy squabbling amongst themselves to care - and carried on that way up until their passing I recall..........

Nah, things haven't changed that much, but "up north" always used to be far closer knit I believe....
