Hello to everybody in this audio site! Hello to users and administrators!

I'm panos_adgr. My username is composite of my name and country origin. My name is Panayotis but all my friends call me panos and I'm from Greece.

I'm in my 30's now and I've been an audio enthusiast since I was born. More details in another topic.:D I'm an active member in many Greek audio communities and an active member in a Greek Audiophile Club since 2011.
My avatar is chosen from a recording label and the reason I chose it is because through this image i feel the expression of my love about audio.

My first real audio system came at the age of 20 years and since then i made lot of chenges and lot of mistakes due to lack of matureness and experience and I'm still trying to coorect things but cost is high and economical situation is prohibiting for actions such us upgrading....
My first system was a pair of Klipsch RF-3 with a denon PMA 1500 dual mono integrated amp and a marantz cd 6000 ose l.e. cd player which i still own. Since than i changed my system to home cinema by adding a pair of klipsch RF-7 and RC-7, a pioneer av reciever vsx 2011 and a pioneer dvd 656 a universal player. Then I added a project debut II TT which was later upgraded to an Nottingham Analogue Interspece TT.

The Home Cinema mentality failed to my taste quickly and I soon realised that two channel audio was my priority and the result that I had was far from a High quality two channel audio. So I sold all my speakers and bought a pair of Audio Physic Scorpio II loudspeakers and a two channel power amp oh Harmonic Audio Labs (prototype).

So this is the basic me. Hello to everybody again from panos_adgr!:)

Two channel audio at this moment is the most important for me because music was always my great love!

I like all kinds of music. Music is like the rainbow. It's made of many beautiful colors and it's a pitty to haveonly one for favourite!;)

But my favourite kinds of music are, progressive 70's rock, Classical music, Jazz and new age.

The man that you see as you look ay the snapshot of the video before it starts is a friend of mine, mr Kostas. and i'm a member with him in the same club.

In the beginning it was one club. The Audiophile Club of Athens (A.C.A.) with global reputation but as members grew more and more so did the opinion differencies and the club was devided to new A.C.A. and AM&FF (Audio and Music Friends and Family.). In the second club I'm a member with many of the people you see in video.

Well Rob I'm not in the video but I'm a member of one of these communities. I'm one the youngest members and my system is humble compared with the other members, but these people are real gurus of hi-end. I visit them quite often and
I've been taught a lot of things aroynd audio from these people.

It is the best film about hifi nuts I have ever seen. I love the bit where one of them says how much he has spent on his hifi in front of his wife!

Yes Rob. It is indeed one of the best films. This guy in a member in A.C.A. Club.
The nice thing with the most of these guys is that they made a big investment in audio but they keep their systems and they do not chenge components like shirts (Greek expression:D) They love music and when we gather and make auditionings it's very beautiful and; almost magic. Great people, the most of them!

Thank you for the warm welcoming! As about the clubs I know that in Greece exist 2 which I mentioned earlier ( aca.gr and cpskal.gr) and a third of 4-5 peolple not worth to mention. There is one also in Istanbul, Turkey which is a brother club to ours and it's the Nuance & Fluence (http://www.arduman.com/aa/). I have found also more but in the form of forum. Our Audiophile Clubs are in a form of small ''communities'' and we have monthly - weekly activities that define the identity of the clubs in something more social, entertaining, and why not educating. So we gather once a month in a members home and we follow a protocol, that goes like this; we gather at a certain time and day, the founding members and president of the club make a speech to present the progress of the club, and discuss problems, if they exist, of the club. Generally a sum up of the overall club progress.Then the host welcomes all, presents his-hers system, plays then a pre selected music program that we now already for a week before the meeting, after anouncment of the host in the forum. We make a ''brake'' for food and drink;) and continue with discussion and comments about hosts system and other things.

The atmosphere is always very warm! We also organize submeets each week. I say all these things to underline the true charachter of these clubs because in many searches in internet i haven't found anything similar. I believe they exist and I wasn't able to find it. The social interaction of the members with knowledge exchange and entertainment purpose, I believe, is what makes an Audio Club. I wish I could find more around the globe.

But the sad thing is that when these clubs become big then it's hard to maintain the integrity or to enjoy meeting in house where 30-40 people have to gather....
