A pair of superb PLATINUM DUO speakers & stands.

£600 .... Swaps or p/ex also considered - anything 2-channel may be of interest!

Designed by Phil Jones, ex of Acoustic Energy. Very like an upmarket and improved Acoustic Energy AE2 - and AE2s go for well over £1,000 with stands. The similarity in design and drivers used is very obvious.

117cm high, including stands. The speakers bolt to the stands by means of 3 bolts per speaker, but 1 bolt for 1 speaker is missing. I'll see if I can get a replacement - they look fairly standard,.

Superb finish - wood veneer sides and piano black laquer on top. Lovely.

Simply superb with rock, blues and electronic music - perhaps a shade forward for classical. Their previous owner was into blues and country music, and thought they were fab - he just fancied a change, as one does!

Fantastic dynamics, clarity, bass extension and control.

Near Mint condition - there is a faint scrape along one side - and perfect working order.

RRP was $4,000+ in the USA. These were made in America and very few were imported into the UK.

See Stereophile review of the smaller Platinum Solo here - http://www.stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/1195platinum/index.html

Very heavy - so collection only (Glos GL17) .... or we may be able to meet up - please ask! Anywhere in the region of Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Swindon, Gloucester, Hereford etc would be fine.

I have the box & packing for the speakers, but not the stands. I may consider sending the speakers only by courier.

Alfa,
This ad is over two years old - Jerry will probably have bought & sold more speakers in that time than you & I have owned in our lives added together!
If you plan on sticking around on AoS, then you should do as you were asked when you registered & start a thread in the Welcome section, that way you'll be sure of a warm welcome.
If however, you've joined merely to take advantage of an old advert, aimed at members of the community, then that's rather frowned on, I'm afraid.
