View Full Version : hello from ireland
Hi there, I used to be a cd nut back in the late 80's and 90's but for the last 5 years went back to vinyl.
My system, is a diy world audio design kel34 valve amp, exposure vii pre-amp, exposure vi psu, micromega stage 6 cd (heavily modified with elna silmic 1+2 caps, audiocom superclock, opamps replaced with either opa627 or opa637), ar-eb101 turntable with goldring 1042 cartidge, spendor sp2/2 speakers, leak troughline tuner.
Bought exposure, micromega, spendor, leak and ar secondhand.
Haven't bought much equipment for a few years now, but looking again.
Now seeking a better turntable.
cheers

Hello and welcome from me too Ian.
I am a little intrigued by your user name - are you a curry fan, and peelaaa is your favoured rice? a "Margrave of the Marshes" fan like me, who misses the old codger on Radio 1 this time of night... Or maybe a Jeff Wayne fan? (Hang on, that was "ooolaa" - wasn't it? ;))
Whatever - now that you've found us, and with thanks for doing the intro thread, hopefully you'll stick around not just for the for sale ads - we look forward to seeing you around. :)

Hi George,
Welcome to AoS from me.
Don't underestimate your turntable - you might be surprised at what it can do if you treat it right. It's capable of a lot better performance than it will give as standard. It might be worth having a little play around with it before you get rid.
Cheers

Nothing as sophisticated as any of your guesses, I'm afraid. I used to like eating oranges as a kid and was always 'peeling' oranges. My first nickname was therefore 'peeler'. This has transformed into peelaaa due to my warped imagination and has stuck, so there you go.
I like your suggestions though:)
