Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself to the members of the forum.

My name is Robert and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I've come to this forum via my interest in Croft valve amplifiers.

I've not had any valves in my system up to this point but I'm hoping for some information and insights from more experienced members here that might help me make some decisions about taking this next step in my listening adventure.

I'm interested primarily in the analogue side of things (I run two turntables and do not have a CD player) and my music interest is mainly in the realm of rock (mostly post-punk, art rock, indie, shoegaze, etc. but with some folk, vocal and jazz mixed in for good measure).

At any rate, I'm pleased to be the newest member of the forum and I look forward to chatting further in future.

Welcome Robert - I'm actually from Toronto originally but now in the UK

Are Croft pre/power amps actually available in Canada and if so which dealer? Could be a good FYI for the future if and when I move back

Welcome to the forum! The Croft amplifiers get a lot of good words at this place. You can find several interesting threads by searching or start a new. :)

Unfortunately not at the moment. I contacted Bluebird (the Canadian Croft distributor) and they told me that there is no dealer in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area.

A shame really as I'm very intrigued and would like to listen to the Micro 25/Series 7 combination.

I'm hesitant to make any effort to buy without finding a place to listen first as I've never used valves in my system before and I'm a little concerned about how well they'd pair with my Kudos X2 speakers (86.5dB). My Naim Nait 5i-2 does the job very well indeed so I'm hoping the Crofts will also perform in my room/system.

At any rate, at least this forum will provide me with some opportunity to get others' views and insights and help push me in the right direction.

P.S. I'm originally from Vancouver myself but have lived in Toronto the last few years. Cheers.
