Howdy, I'm a greenhorn audiophile wannabe from Calgary and hope to learn lots from visiting this site. While I know very little about electronics I was able to DIY my audio system using kits, others' help and knowledge and lots of hope.
My 2-way loudspeakers use Scan-Speak drivers and were built from a design (John Krutke) and kit supplied by Madisound in the US. I then put together a tube preamp with phono (Tetra) and line stages (Aikido) based on boards created by John Broskie. My tube amplifier is a 60 watts/channel Dynaco-clone ST-120 by Bob Latino.
Although I have a CD player most (99%) of my music is played on a modified Technics SL-1210 turntable using a Dynavector 20XL cartridge through a step-up unit I built.
