Brand new never been used, put some feet on, took the stock arm off, ready to fettle time permitting. Must admit does look rather cool as it is! Spot the obvious anyone?

Did you 'accidentally' coat the mat in Hammerite? Or is it a trick of the light?

In Photography a process by which there is loss in detail towards the corners and sides of an image. ;)

.........well, I can spot the obvious sales pitch in a non-trade area. Is that what you mean?
Maybe not.

I think that the Oyaide mat looks far better sprayed a darker colour to match the 1210's plinth, as it looks much less bling and 'boy racer', that way! :)

Could one be anodised black? That might look quite sexy.

Good call, Mark.

I'd even go as far as spraying the platter black and hiding the strobe markings as much as possible, which I've always found make the Techy look tacky, to say the least.

If the Oyaide mat and stock Techy platter were all the same colour (on a 1210), I think it could look really smart :)

A bit of bling is cool dude, I had it powder coated so its permanent and will not scratch off, next phase is to mechanically bond the platter and oyaide mat together with the thin rubber mat sandwiched in between using heavyweight plastic rods which fit in the holes in the oyaide mat, holes the same size will be drilled into the technics platter and the plastic rods will be an interference fit to hold it all together, it works as I prototyped a smaller scale sample, and of course the strobe markings will be taken off.

Interesting... That could work quite well. Keep us posted of progress :)

The powder coating makes it look like it has been dipped in treacle IMHO.

:lolsign: Fancy a lick?

It probably needs polished to a more refined finish.
