Hi,
I'm Mike and I live in Stockport with my wife and son, both my daughters have flown the nest.:)
My sytem is pretty simple cosisting of an old Denon DCD 835 CD player, and slightly less old Pentium PC which gives me access to spotify and internet radio etc and a 22" flatscreen TV with built in freeview + DVD which lets me do the multimedia bit. They are all connected to a Beresford Caiman DAC which also acts as a pre-amp. Finally the Caiman feeds a pair of Behringer B3031A active monitors and a B2092A active subwoofer. My listening room is modest but comfortable and measures approx 12'X14' and also houses my CD collectioin of approx 400 CDs.
I've never really categorised the music I listen to, I just like to listen. I'll list the CDs I actually play in a week at some point, I might learn something about my musical tastes as well!
I don't spend a fortune on hifi, the only kit I bought new are the Caiman & the TV. The rest were bought secondhand or aquired as cast offs. I put the current system together over the last year or so and I'm pretty happy with the sound. I guess I'm a "budget hifi" man who looks to spend more time listening to music than listening to the system but at the same time wants to listen to the best sound I can afford. I hope this will do for an intro.
Cheers,
Mike
