Old Ideas is a brand new album from Leonard Cohen and his first studio album in over seven years. I’ve only had one listen through so far but I do like it. A slight absence of real tunes, it’s quite understated and ‘talky’ and Cohen the poet is prominent.

It maybe a little on the bland side for some tastes but I think albums tend to improve with a little familiarly and I’ll be interested to see what I think after a few listens. One thing’s for sure and that’s Cohen’s voice is sounding great, very deep and strong.

A very good but typical Cohen album..interesting that he gave up smoking some time ago but intends to start again when he's 80..I just recently got into LC's music and now own all his albums. Some say he is the most depressing muso out there but I love all his stuff..cheers me up sometimes.

Saw him live a couple years back at Weybridge, a true performer.

'I was 73, just a kid with a crazy dream'

Thanks for this Christian. I missed this one. I've just ordered the LP, and am listening to it on Spotify now. Sounds good.
