Hi, rather strangly i've never purchased a drive new belt for any turntable i've owned, never needed to. However I need to source a decent replacement for a Heybrook TT2, anyone know a good reliable place to get one??

Cheers,

Rob.

As an aside. I've been wondering for ages whether to get a new drive belt for my old pink triangle. Has anyone noticed a substantial difference after renewing a drive belt?

Well it should as they perish with age don't they ?

I think they stretch a little bit. A replacement every year or two would probably do it good.

Depends on the drive belt but a Pink Triangle belt will only last 2-3 years before is starts to slip off.

It ain't doing that right now Dave. Do you think it's likely to be healthy?

If it doesn't slip off and comes up to speed within a few seconds and maintains that speed - put your money back in your wallet.

You could try freshening it up a little by putting it in a small bag with some talc. Shake it up & kind of wrinkle the bag through your fingers so the talc gets all over the belt. Then take it out of the bag & give it a bit of a shake to get the bulk of the powder off.

I store my spare belt like this.
