Music to put my system through its paces

Fancy putting my news dacs through its paces :eyebrows: so I am bored of listening to the same old music and fancy listening to something new/different :rolleyes:

My taste is varied to say the least I listen to Mumford and sons to alexisonfire so what do u guys suggest?

Roy Buchanan, Thelonious Monk & Aphex Twin. All worlds apart but potentially quite intricate so should give your system bit of a workout.

Perhaps not the hardest work for your system but one I would recommend highly is Solid Air by the late John Martyn. I was lucky enough to see him live shortly before he died and he's quite something.

The Buggles - Age of Plastic.
One of the best pop-rock albums I have heard. OK, so it's a few decades old now, but I've never heard a better recording, amazingly transparent and dynamic, and the music is fab, too, imo. :)

T++ - Wireless (Dub-Step with a lot of bass)
Richard Thompson - Mock Tudor (Great rock and folk record with fine sound)
Jackie Leven - Elegy For Johnny Cash (Great sound. More rock, soul and folk)
Janos Starker - Legendary Period LPs (Cello)
Bola Sete - Ocean Memories (Acoustic Guitar)
John Fahey - Yellow Princess (Acoustic Guitar)
James Blackshaw - The Glass Bead Game (More acoustic)
Marty Ehrlich - Fables (Beautiful recent jazz with bass clarinet)

Anything by Diana Krall. They are all beautifully recorded. Especially 'Live in Paris'

Steely Dan - Aja or Adele 21 are also worth a spin.

As my system stands at the minute i have:

Oppo 93 for music/movies
Kef Q900's
eastern electric minimax dac also using as a pre for now
Mark Grant pure silver coax
custom 3 channel power amp

Options are:

matching inter connects to the mg coax
Glen croft micro 25 pre/ series 7 power which both can be upgraded to R's as and when.
transport for audio so its more dedicated than using the oppo for both alothough not half bad considering!!!!! open to suggestions with this

Apparently he's a classically trained musician and actually records a lot of his own hits and breaks, so it's not just random samples ripped from sample packs with him. He's not a 'dj' as he can't beatmatch and therefore mix, but he does shows that people go mad for, using an amiga 500 and floppy disks to hold his hits on and arranges things live, a real talent:
