Wanted! A Linn mount tone arm to resurrect an old Heybrook TT2.
Hi i'm after a Linn mount tone arm, something like a Linn Basik Plus, Linn LVX or Linn LVV or similar, it must be in good mechanical order (bearings) and electrically okay, appearance is not to important.
It must be cheap please.
Cheers,
Rob.
I've got a basic plus in good condition. Haven't a clue what it's worth but I've been meaning to sell it.

Hi I would be interested as many moons ago when I remember my Dad using it it had a Basik Plus fitted with a K9 cartridge(!), I haven't got much to spend unfortunately (I fit the term impoverished audiofile well).
Have a look/ask around to see what your comfortable with and let me know.
Best regards,
Rob.
I've looked around but can't find any pricing. I'm not looking for top ebay prices, just something sane as a deal between two enthusiasts. I'll keep looking for some sort of price indicator.

Looks like they were £85 in 1984 ish!

They were around RB250 price IIRC. Mine btw was bought new with my Systemdek many years ago....so what's the value of an RB250 nowadays? We can then knock something off that to get to a fair & sensible price for the Basik Plus for both of us.
I took some pics:
Linn Basik Plus and a Mission arm that fits the Linn base

The Mission is unused and is cosmetically the better of the two.

Linn base (one base, two arms)

Linn Basik - it's mostly dust you can see around the Linn white writing / bearing housing - the camera flash is very unflattering.

Some form of oxidisaton on the alloy near the headshell - the camera flash makes it look way worse than it really is.

I really don't know what's a fair price. How about £45 + postage for both arms (likely to be £7 ish?).

Hi Clive you'll have a PM in a minute or two:-)
Hi, I've got an old Mission 775 turntable in need of an arm. Are either of the arms in this thread still up for grabs? Cheers, Crippsy.
