Hello from Leeds

I am Alasdair from Leeds, just signed on to the forum. My system is a bit of a mixture of semi-modern and vintage - the modern bit is a Rotel CD player and a Pure DAB radio tuner (front end) and World Designs WD25a loudspeakers; the semi-modern bit is a (slightly modified) Walker CJ61 turntable and Mayware MkV tonearm (I think mine was the last one made). I don't know whether a Denon DL103 mounted in an Isokinetik metal body and fitted with an Expert Stylus Paratrace stylus counts as 'vintage' or 'modern'. However it is very good and it feeds a 'Blackhead MkII' step up transformer. The definitely vintage part os the bit in the middle is a Rogers HG88 MkII amplifier, rescued from a friend's rubbish heap - nearly half a century old and still going strong.
Music? A bit of jazz, a bit of Mahler, a bit of folk, recently introduced by a daughter to Nick Drake, Rod Stewart, Mike Nesmith ... call it 'random' or 'eclectic' according to taste.

A very warm welcome to The Art of Sound from me. A nice mixture of equipment you have there - I had a HFN Black Head for quite a few years.
I never met anyone in the UK who acknowledged that Mike Nesmith even made records outside of the Monkees, let alone admitted that they like them, so with you & your daughter that makes three of us now!

Hi Alasdair - welcome from me too. Hopefully you will enjoy AoS, and as Glen says, make a few friends along the way - some will be virtual, some will be "real" - AoS is as much a community as it is a place in cyberspace - hopefully we'll see more and more get togethers around the country. In the meantime though, hope you enjoy the forum. :)
