View Full Version : Increasing volume on laptop?

I have a "work" laptop, which I use in conjunction with a "DJ Controller" which is basically a device that resembles a twin deck cdp, for use on gigs.

Now, I have a stand alone sound card for outputting to the main PA, and pre fade cueing is done via the headphone socket on the lappy, but, despite the volume being turned to max, ( for headphone monitoring on the laptop) still isn't loud enough, (I have checked and all volume levels are at max) which to my mind is odd as I have another which is the same brand, but different model, and that is Lots louder.

Is there any way, either internally or externally (thinking small pre amp thing here) to boost the volume?

Any active preamp with gain will do the job. Or buy some more sensitive headphones.
