Wanted: SUT

Going MC again (Ortofon Rondo Bronze) for my work system and wanting to try a SUT into my MM phono stage. Any one got anything kicking around they no longer use having upgraded or whatever?

Just a quick piece of advice. Please do some reading around SUT's (sorry if you already have ;)) It's amazing the differences that are out there and the number of variables that you will have to contend with to find a SUT which is compatible with your system. I've tried a couple of SUT's and think that they do make a difference but you have to partner them carefully with your cartridge. This is the bit which i'm still experimenting with :( I also counsel you get some info from some of the other AOS'ers with SUT's. Good luck and toodle pip!

Are you not happy with the Decca in your work system? The Deccas don’t work that well in a RB250. Personally I think that the Decca stomps all over most MCs, but it needs to be in a unipivot or parallel tracker. A decent SUT will not be cheap to go with a Rondo. Personally I’d spend the money on an used Hadcock or possibly a Terminator Pro 3 (although I can’t be sure that will fit on your PT).

If you already have Decca I would agree with Charlie, just get Terminator T3Pro tonearm from Vic at Trans-Fi audio.

Hi boys,
Thanks for taking an interest. Sadly, something terrible has happened..... I've lost the Decca. I quite literally can't find it. I've changed the RB250 for a Roksan Nima and in the process lost the Decca somewhere. I can't find a used one to replace it - wish to god I could.
I'm also fond of moving coil treble and thought it might be an opportunity to try a SUT experimental styley.
It's important to remember that this system is at work in my warehouse so fiddly stuff life parallel tracking air bearing tone arms are a no no. Only the toughest components survive and it's the main reason I buy cheap second hand stuff for it.
If I had a vinyl front end at home my money would go to Vic for a salvation no question.
So now you interfering gits :) what SUTs have you got for me?

If you are willing to return mine within a week you can borrow it, really works well with a 103 but you need to cover postage

Tried Audiotechnica SUT, very good. Will be getting an Ortonfon in next few months to try out but this will be after I have placed several other upgrades in the system. :)

Many thanks for giving me the first offer John. I really loved the Audio Innovations 800 SUT I sold to you. Unfortunately :doh: I have caught a Decca fever and I need to sell something to fund a new Decca cart.
