I'm selling my rather sweet Jico-SAS-tipped Shure M75. It's done approx 100-150 hours, and the only reason I'm moving it on is that I've got hold of a DL103 Pro which I've always fancied trying.

The Shure will work well in any low-medium mass arm (think standard Tecchy 1210/RB250-300 as examples). The SAS tip consists of not only a very sophisticated stylus profile but it's mounted on a boron cantilever for extra rigidity. Its sound is clear, open and surprisingly dynamic for an 'old' cartridge. :)

Also included will be a spare M75 cartridge body.

New, the SAS sylii are approx $135 plus delivery from Japan, and I'll sell the above for £70 delivered in the UK.

Please pm if interested. Thanks. :)

Indeed Dave - not really 100% sure about this one.

Still, if it doesn't sell and the 103 Pro doesn't suit I'll just pass the Denon on instead. The Shure has been a real eye-opener of a cartridge - particularly good on acoustic/classical/orchestral.

Well, there are loads of M75 bodies around and also very many V15 III, IV and V ones too. The v15 II was sort-of downgraded into the M75-ED, so a good V15 II body would be ideal I reckon and the V15 VMR was my favourite of them all, so ripe for an SAS stylus :)

I had considered at one point searching out a good V15 II or III body but, presuming the SAS tip conversion maintains the original compliance, the Technics arm might be a bit too weighty for it.

The M75 works fine in the lighter weight Technics headshell (vs the Sumiko) but I wouldn't really want to go much massier on the arm. Reckon an RB Rega would suit it well though and would be an interesting combination.

Thanks for link.

I'm well outta touch with carts, is the Shure V15 still a decent cart? Are they still made new and is the V15 a mm cart etc?

I'm lost...

The V15 is a MM and is no longer made. But get a second hand V15 body and pair it with a Jico SAS and you've got a great sounding cart.

I use an SAS on my P22 and it's a fantastic sound.
