Thats is exactly what I intend to do with my techie, get rid of the pitch control, the popup light and also the strobe light. This will have to wait until my other mods are in place. :eyebrows:

I simply disconected the pitch control removed it soldered the 2nd and 3rd pins together to ensure it ran at the correct and constant speed, then simply filled the hole and resprayed the plinth its a noticaple upgrade, ive also remoned the motor and transformer while im waiting to get the time step PSU when i do ill remove the strobe light & power switch which ill locate in the timestep box, i hope this answers your question if you need more details then please ask

The pitch stabiliser is just the sort of mod that I want to do. I dont suppose You can put a couple of pics up showing your handy work with the 2nd and 3rd pins? I'm a little confused as to how you did this:scratch:

ok here we go firstly to Rexton thanks for your interest and comments, and i will take the turntable and send pics and instructions on how to do the work you asked about. and now Marco again thanks for the interest the original reason to remove the pitch controler was that it was never used and manily for aesthetic reasons, but after removing it i did notice a more solid image.

What did you fill it with? P38 or some kind of Plastic Padding at a guess? :scratch:

I could imagine how it'd help stiffen up the top plate where the pitch control used to be & damp things a little better at any rate ;)

i disconnected my pitch control ... cant say i noticed a lot of difference (not that im denying you your ears) ... i sold the deck before i got round to blocking up the hole ...

Pleased you didn't Hamish, I prefer the look of the deck as it is. I might re connect it as some time, in the future.

yes it was filled with a 2pack filler and i will try and do the pics this weekend if not by next weekend at the latest, thanks for all the comments, I will be removing the strobe and on/off when i get a new PSU
