Nope, I didn't buy it, not at that bloody price - even I'm not that daft! :eyebrows: I think you missed the irony, Darren....

It would only have been for a bit of fun on a second T/T (a Gates) that I may or may not start a project with. However, I'm pleased for the guy who sold it. He was very helpful and got an excellent price for what is undoubtedly a rare and desirable item :)

It was missing another U shaped thingy, the tonearm rest. Only a small point I know but for that money I'd expect a complete bit of kit.

Lol... The extra pictures the seller posted solved a few mysteries, which he should've supplied in the first place.

No doubt others (with little experience of such things) would've been similarly as mystified as me. If I were to have bought it, sans instructions, I'd have needed to know where everything went. And another thing, what does one do about armboard templates for these vintage items?

In the end, my query probably helped the sale! ;)

I think the arm-base just bolts onto a bare board on these old tonearms.. Would have been good with a G800 like the BBC once used, but i have no idea which phono stage went with it - obviously a BBC home-brewed affair I suspect, as was typical back then.
