Anyone here use Ansar SPA Capacitors?

I thinking these Ansars are not even popular in the U.K.where there only distributors are?
They are unheard of in the U.S. and looks like they are un heard of everywhere? Even where they are made and sold,so far only Marco knows about them.

Had some in a pair of MLTL speakers I used to have, sounded very good. Dunno how they stack up against others though, I never tried anything else in them.

What did you find in them ? Marco thought they where on the warm side.
That actually appeals to me in some tweeter circuits.

They also seem to be priced fairly low.
If they are a good cap,I'd like to try some.

I had a pair of MLTL's using fostex Fe167e's, to which I added some tweeters with an L-pad using Ansars ( I got the tweeters, L- pads and the caps as a job lot from someone on the forum)

Dunno what I can tell you, they sounded good. As I never tried any other caps, I can't give you a benchmark against caps I know well. They're not expensive though, so I's say give them a go. I think John (Welder) has used them in his speakers?

Well I liked them anyway. They may possibly be dismissed by some because of their low cost, so not seen as a "boutique" cap.

BTW, just googled them, mine were black ones, the SPA are red?
So may be a different cap altogether.

SPA is higher voltage and the leads are pure silver.

I think Wilmslow Audio sell them (I remember visiting WA when they were actually in Wilmslow). I use Ansar caps to my tweeters, bypassed by a small clarity cap - never felt the need to replace them.

I got the Ansar Caps today,I used a Clarity Cap ESR 10uf 630v next to a Ansar SPA 10uf 400v cap to give some prospective.I also put a goober/peanut next to them for those who don't know the size of a largish C.C.
They are smallish but seem well made,everything I measured was with in 1%!
The standard blacks are 630v!
They would be fantastic where space is a concern.

The Clarity's are both 10.29 all the Ansars measured right to spec like a 4 uf cap measured 4.01uf both the red and black ones.
The 10 was at 10.04 and 10.06!
The guy I got these from bought a ton of them from a company that never got to happen.
He is not an audio guy and got them to resell and had no means to measure them, he just pulled them from piles!
Well done,I may try to make a second crossover just to hear them.

What's the impressions of the caps? In comparison? I'm looking for 100mf caps for x-over in LF part and Ansars seem to be a variant .

Ansar are all i use for a number of reasons

Regarding the Black coated ones (without the red coated leads), the plain military kinda look is ideal for swapping out vintage caps visual wise..

I find they don't add to the sound like a lot of boutique caps tend to do. I find they bring everything more into the picture whilst retaining the speakers original character of sound if you know what i mean, & of course they are a good price, very good.

100mf caps are working from the very bottom to 2 kHz in my x-over, so it is really good if Ansars are neutral . May be some coupling will be needed

I've used Ansar caps in the past and now have ClarityCap ESA's in my current (Yamaha) crossovers. Unfortunately, (and not much use to you) I've never directly compared the two :(.

The Ansar's were used as the tweeter cap in my Epos ES14's and were bypassed by a small value Auricap. I used these speakers for many years and, despite making many other changes, never felt the need to upgrade these capacitors further.
