Way hey, at last Dave joins the 21st century! :D

Nice one, dude. You'll be posting pics all the time now - and all over the place!! :eyebrows:

The root of the problem is that you have written and twice -I don't know why you have done this. I've edited your link and now your MASSIVE tree pic shows up!

I'll not be looking for a job in IT Training, then!

Dave - remember that if you have left clicked "IMG Code" in photobucket, then all you need do is paste in AoS (you only need to use the "Image" button if you copied the code from an image on the web.)

I must admit, I grin a bit at times Alex, but mostly I just sit here and cry.
I could write pages about human fear of, and subservience to, technology and have nothing but admiration for those like Dave it seems who are prepared to learn rather than dismiss the technology because they don't understand it.

I happen to love teaching what little I know, be it Maths and Physics to my odd assortment of students or helping people out here with file based audio. The satisfaction in seeing people turn the magical into understandable and become the master rather than slave can't be beaten imo.

I'm downsizing in a major way..:stalks:

I think I've got it cos I managed this. It just seems so easy but I'll reserve judgement until I do it in earnest.

Thank you Alex for your great patience yesterday - above and beyond.

You should have seen his face when he asked why I wasn't using tabs and I said 'tabs ?' or 'just cut and paste' and my response was 'err ?'. He wanted to be somewhere else..

Um, yes, well - one step at a time, I guess - when you are doing it all day every day it is easy to assume everyone knows things like cutting and pasting!

Hi Dave,

Open your Photobucket account and hover your mouse pointer over the pic you want in your post. It should then expand to look like this:

http://i1019.photobucket.com/albums/af316/Sgtgrash/PBHiFiDave.jpg

Left click over the text box labelled 'IMG Code' (marked by the black & red arrow) which will copy that link into the text buffer. Then all you do is right click and paste the resulting text into your post in the position you want, et voila!!! :D

Thank you. I've done that and it works OK, except for the extra img thingies.

Anyway, I can muddle through and will attempt to post some more pics tomorrow.

Dave, when pasting the text copied from PB be sure to paste the text straight into the 'Reply to Thread' text box. There's no need to click on the 'Insert Image' icon on the tool bar above this box as PB automatically places the tags around the text for you ;)

Dave - something to remember, whilst I remember - if you delete any of the pictures from your Photobucket account then they are also deleted from anywhere you have linked them - i.e. here (see your first post.) Same happens if you move them from one album to another as it "breaks" the links.

Spot on. I bought this recently as I had one back in the 70's. It's a beautiful bit of kit, 3 heads etc and this one was (apparently) boxed up just a few months after purchase, so it's like new.

Lovely jubbly.:champagne:

Ah the 'M8' yummy Dave but i prefer the Transistorised 'M9'

hifi_dave
01-02-2012, 15:57
Most of the vintage gear I have was bought because I lusted after it back in the day. This was the case with the M8, which made me drool on Imhof's window but I just couldn't afford one.

When the M9 came out, I had moved on to Ferrograph, Brenell and Revox to save up for. I have a Ferrograph Series 6 and Revox G36 and F36 nestling in boxes somewhere..

synsei
01-02-2012, 22:09
Ah the loft, that well known repository of ancient hifi equipment. In years to come Antique Roadshow's presenters will be waxing orgasmically over neglected Leak and Radford amps, dusty Sondek's, TD160's and patina caked Celestion's with saggy old woofers as the eager punters, with eye's a'twinkling and stockings a'wrinkling, await with tremblin' knees, the valuation.... "50 pounds? 50 bloody quid??? I could get over a thousand pounds for those Ditton 66's on ebay!!!" :D

hifi_dave
01-02-2012, 23:12
