Thought I'd share some clips of my band The PRISM Project playing our Pink Floyd Tribute show at The Office pub in South Shields last week.

Suffice to say it was a fab gig for us and an amazing crowd to play to. The lads providing our sound and lights did a fantastic job, Colin's PA system 6000watts front of house and 2000watts montoring was a thing of wonder and clarity. Both audience and band had ears ringing the following day, nobody complained though. The lighting guy Marty brought the entire contents of his garage to the gig and deployed all of his weapons, (including 4 powerful lasers) to blind both band and crowd alike.

We've taken another 3 bookings on the strength of this gig and look forward to putting this show on around the UK in the coming months. I'll post further gig info as and when confirmed so hopefully any AoS floydies can pop along and catch us.

cheers

Nice one Richard. From the clips, that looks like a very polished performance. Good luck with the tour.

I've only listened to your rendition of Money, and was very impressed. Especially the rock solid rhythm section and singing (wasn't too too crazy about the guitar solo, but hey, it's a tall order). I think this is pretty much as close as anyone could possibly get covering one of the hardest songs in Floyd's catalog (switching back and forth between the odd and the square 4/4 meter -- ouch!)

Congratulations...

Top-notch, Rich! You guys will certainly add value to the AoS show, and there are usually plenty of Floyd fans amongst the show go-ers ;)

Marco.

Cheers Marco, as the show is some way off we could probably put together a 'prog' flavour set mixing in some requests... seems like plenty of prog fans on AoS

I've seen them and they're rubbish! ha ha only Joking, for someone like me who really isn't a PF fan I really enjoyed the gig, and not simply due to the fact two really close friends started it, but from a musical aspect and how they have progressed. They had a cracking sound engineer also, and an insane lighting tech guy.

Perhaps friends of people in bands see things differently, but they certainly do not hear things differently.

Who were you friendly with Graeme, I got to know the band too ;) I stopped seeing either of the breakaways after they split, but I did see Damien's lot and was very disappointed. The gravy days have gone for me.

Crossed wires I think Tim, Graeme's a mate of mine...

For what its worth I saw the Brit Floyd last year at the Sage, thoroughly enjoyed their show, flawless as it was, but like a lot of the Tributes it was a bit dry and sometimes the delivery lacks a bit passion. We aim to do the floyd stuff in a more organic way and often jam/improvise on their songs and work our own arrangements.

Keeps it interesting for band and audience alike, we want our audience to have fun rather than sit and ponder which is the vibe i get with some of the others... we do it for the joy and not the money:eyebrows:

I'm going to see the aussie pink floyd tonight cant wait.
Saw them in 1995 at the Esplanade pub in Southend and they were impressive then, but they're huge now.

Good luck with your band, Rich.

A quick gig update - we'll be playing The Office in South Shields on Friday 14th Dec... Our Dark Side of f**king Christmas show. We also have a very special guest for this show, Mr Ted Hunter of 'Shine On' and 'Badgaa'. Ted is one of the North East's finest guitarists with the most authentic Gilmour sound you''ll ever hear he's also a great bloke and we're really looking forward to playing with him again.

If any AoS members come and say hello I'll get you a beer (it is f**king Christmas after all), cant say fairer than that eh?

Meanwhile we are still looking for a decent lead vocalist/second gtr after Richie Rich (he of psych-rockers Lunarjet and the legendary Benwell Floyd) has moved on to other projects. If anyone would like to audition or knows of a good candidate please let me know....

Howdy, just a quick note of some upcoming gigs in case any of you good people would like to come see us...

Fri 3rd May - Hartlepool Supporters Club

Fri 10th May - The Three Tuns, Gateshead

Sat 15th June - The Miners Arms, Alston, Cumbria

We're hoping for a busier year in 2013 now that we have the line up stable again. We've been joined by frontman Chris Goodband (formerly of Floyd2, and his solo act Floyd2Gilmour), Chris brings loads to our show both in terms of his sound and visual effects and we cant wait to get gigging with him.

If you'd like any more info about the band then drop me a line, if you're coming to any of the shows please say hello. Cheers

Just a quick reminder that we'll be playing the Wardley Legion Club in Gateshead this Saturday 27th July.

Our debut show with Chris Goodband (Floyd2) and Paul Boydell (Prognosis, So Gabriel) on the guitar duties. Usual light show and big sound!

Any members in the Newcastle/Gateshead area pop along and say hello!

Brilliant. Love Floyd tributes - fly South. I have only scanned this thread but "touring the country" seems to mean the nation state of tyne&wear at the moment

Looking forward to the overseas tour - we've allowed Jordies in for years now down here in Kent :)

Yes, we've had our ups and downs over the last year. Just when you think you're getting somewhere it all changes.

Anyway, we're still plugging away at it and enjoying it. Even if that's only in our own back yard for the time being.
