Dingdong merrily on high!!

Just a quick post to praise Dingdong (aka Mark) who has this week gone above and beyond the call of audiophile duty by repairing my beloved Perreaux 200i amplifier which went belly up at the end of last year after one of the capacitors decided to leak.

Perreaux very kindly sent me (all the way from New Zealand) a new circuit board and capacitors free of charge (there was no warranty or anything so kudos to them for great customer service), and Mark has installed it and tidied up a few other areas and the amp is now sounding utterly amazing, even better than it was before, and was making some of the best sounds I've ever heard this morning:)

He wouldn't take any money from me despite my best efforts, so just wanted all on AOS to know what a great guy he is:youtheman:

Thanks Paul. It was only a little bit of soldering and tidying up a couple of connectors.
That Perreaux is a very very good amp. I'd highly recommend them to anybody. And they look quite pretty too.

I've never had this Perreaux up for sale.

I did have a couple previously which I sold about 2 and 5 years ago.

I hope you don't mind me barging into your thread Uncle but I'd like to add my thanks for the fine work Mark did installing the upgrades I ordered from the States into my Hafler as well as all the upgraded gubbins on the rear panel, including the fitting of an MCRU No14 captive mains cable. I know this task in particular wasn't easy as this thick snake of a mains cable had to be contorted around various delicate components so as not to damage them.

Mark has gone even further beyond the call of duty because he also fitted an SME SeriesIII to my Techy so I think he deserves a big round of... :clapclapclap:

Will have me soldering iron and tools in the car at Scalford if anybody gets stuck. That'll probably mean me and my new (to me) valve amps then:lol:
