Having spent some time watching from the outside I've finally decided to register.
I've been messing around with Hi Fi since the early 70's and got my first valve amp in about 77, a Leak Stereo 20. Since moved through Quad 11s to modified World Audio Design 300B PSE monoblocks.
Sources are Alphason Sonata with 100 MCS arm plus Audio Technica OC9, plus a Technics VRDS 10 with disabled DAC and Monica 2 battery powered DAC.
Pre amp is a LC Audio Sidewinder and phono duties are through the MC stage of a Hafler pre amp.
Speakers are DIY PRO 9TL transmisson lines. Cables all home brewed and mains is supplied through a balanced transformer.
Music tastes are varied but given my age, home ground is blues based.
Looking to build some open baffle speakers soon so enjoying some research here.

Also have a mini collection of turntables and have just passed my TD124 on to my son Simon who is using the forum for the restoration.

Hi Paul, a warm welcome to AoS from me :) You appear to have rather a lot of kit that I am in no way familiar with & some that I am. I was a tad confused at the VRDS 10 until I realised you probably should have said Teac ;)

Would be great if you could grace the gallery with some pictures, I'd like a look at your DIY transmission lines in particular :)

All the very best to you & I hope you enjoy your stay here!

Hi Mark,
Shows I'm loosing it when I don't know Technics from Teac, I've owned it for 20 years so I really should remember!

I constructed the transmision lines even earlier, late 70s, Chris Rogers design from Practical Hi Fi. Now with rebuilt hard wired cross-overs located outside the cabinets and with Sonics PXX caps and upgraded resistors. I'll post some pics when I can.

Thanks for the welcome,
Paul.
