I was wondering what your views are on Kef Reference102. I am looking for a second set of speakers that won't cost me a fortune and there are some 102s available locally at a decent price. I would use them with Quicksilver mid-mono amps that do have a 4 ohm tap. Currently have Spendor Sp1.

Hello Jay, i had a pair of KEF 105.3 and found they worked better with solid state amps, a bit here from before on AOS (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4008)

Jon,

Thanks for the link. I do have a 2nd system Quad 303/33 however it is in a larger room so don't think the 102 will be very well suited.

never used kef's on on anything but solid state, but if they are at a good price get um anyway, kef's on ebay and especially the reference models always fetch good money.
