The hi-fi is now located in the tiniest of rooms imaginable where a cat would have trouble sitting down, let alone being swung :lol:h
Things will be a lot better when the two drawer units are removed and a built-in wardrobe unit on the other side of the room is removed as well. That is on hold for a moment until I regain my strength after the recent drama I had.
Only got the Focals yesterday and couldn't resist unpacking them and giving them a whirl. Wasn't any great fan of Focal speakers in the past given that the pair of small Chorus bookshelves I bought a few years ago sounding dire with anaemic bass and fizzy treble, but this latest incarnation from Focal is a whole different beast. I would not pair them with budget electronics that's for sure because they can be rather ruthless and revealing, in fact I stopped playing one CD last night where all it's recording shortcomings were brutally exposed. On the other hand, play something like Hugh Maselela's "Hope" album and it's visceral power and energy delights and enthralls. At least they are not fazed by being cooped up in such a tiny area.
My immediate problem is finding shorter speaker cables as I spent nearly 20 minutes wrestling with the Black Mambas getting them to behave themselves behind the speakers
I am looking forward to making this tiny room into my listening room, so it can only get better from where I am now with it
