For Sale: Croft Syntegra Integrated Amplifier

90 Watts per channel valve/MOSFET hybrid. 4 line level inputs. 1 tape output. 1 set of speaker binding posts. All gold plated.

Boutique components throughout. Point-to-point silver wiring. Very good quality binding posts.

Upgraded Glasshouse Seiden/Takman metal film stepped attenuator.

Upgraded Elma precious metal selector switch.

Upgraded GE JAN 5751 valves (cryo treated) plus one spare brand new, tested but otherwise unused pair of same.

The stainless steel case has a few minor swirls and the odd small scuff. That makes it sound much worse than it is (see photos). The acrylic front panel and knobs look good.

This is a stunning amplifier, outstanding in every way. Fast and deep, tight, extremely transparent, unfailingly musical. Combines the best attributes of valve and solid state with none of the downsides. I only have Celestion DL6's to demonstrate with so I suggest you bring your own speakers if you want to really hear what this amp can do.

I’m selling for the same reason I sold the Zu’s – my music listening is now done on headphones in anticipation of an imminent downsizing. The speakers are only now used for TV and background so this Croft can no longer be justified. Something far more pedestrian will suffice.

I don’t have the original box but I have an Arcam one that will protect it nicely. A standard kettle lead is included. Can be shipped fully insured at cost or you can arrange your own pick-up.

As to cost, retail in total is £2750 including the stepper, selector, valves and spare valves (I do recommend that you take the spare valves – they were chosen after exhaustive trials of many types and were far and away the best).

Let’s start at £1200 or sensible offer.

Another very interesting Croft which looks gret]at. Would love to hear this Chris, but you're too from me, damnit.

I know that you had a GCI, Trane; are you saying that the Syntegra is similar inside?

hi Andrew,
yep, I did - pls. see pic below -, so now you can compare the 2 by the sight, at least, that sure tells something of the differences... it was, however, upgraded by Glenn before I had bought it w/ a 300VA transformer and some exotic Croft branded PIO caps, hence was a step-up from the factory original

The picture in post #5 is a later model from the Eminent Audio era.

Mine looks very like the one in post #7.

The Syntegra and GCi were very similar but the Syntegra had better quality parts and more power. It was also a grand more expensive.

Here are some piccies:

OK, I've had a few good offers for this amp now but they all from the continent.

I really don't want to have to get involved with international shipping and international payment if I can possibly avoid it but if I don't get a UK offer soon then I will have to give in and ship it abroad.

Come on guys. This is a top flight amp for a very good price. Make me an offer!

This really, what an awesome looking piece of kit.

Does Glenn do bespoke work or did you have to send this elsewhere to get the custom bits done?
