How well do these work with iTunes on a mac?

They don't work with iTunes.
Logitech Media Server can incorporate your iTunes library.
There is a Mac compatible version of LMS.

Right, yes, I kinda knew that, but how well does the whole thing integrate and work with a mac running iTunes and in a wireless network.

I tried the Sonos once and used the iPad app for control but there was a limit to album artwork file size meaning half my library's artwork would not appear on the iPad app. Are there any such limits with the sbt?

At this price should I go for it and replace my SB3? Would it really make such a difference.

I run my setup on PC, so I can't answer your questions.
Join here http://forums.slimdevices.com/ and ask your questions.

Bear in mind that you could buy a Touch at that price, and if you don't get along with it you could always sell it for what you paid for it.
It's the nearest thing to a no risk buy that you'll ever come across ;)

PS - my artwork is usually 600 x 600 pixels, and I don't encounter any scan or performance issues.

Yes.
And it will sound better.
Not a whole lot better, but it will be better than what you already have :)

Is that using the analogue output or the digital, or both? I have been wondering about one of those Schiit Dacs which Werner recommends. Might work just as well from an SB3 as from a Touch. At present I tend to use the SB3 fed into a Caiman. The Schiit might be a better upgrade if it's as good as reported to be.

Yes.
Both.
Don't forget that the SB3 will only be able to play 24/96 files with a server-side downsample, whereas the Touch will do it natively (no resampling).

They were £199 in PC World last time I was in there.
They're extremely good value at that price.

Yes, but now from a different supplier (currently Empire). Looks like that was too good a deal.
Some guys got a bargain.

Thats what I paid recently and I thought that was a reasonable deal but at £135 it's a no brainer IF you can get hold of one. Lots of people seem to have set up stock alerts with Amazon and so as soon as they get any back in stock they seem to go immediately.

The Logitech server software can be a PITA to install if it doesn't like your computer but is worth perservering with. I would definetley get another if I can lay hands on one for £135. though I don't understand the huge discounting unless there due to be discontinued. The fact that Amazon sell out almost immediately would tend to indicate ther'e selling them to cheap.

Been following the price for some time now and just happened to check Amazon the other day. A definite no brainer at £135, so ordered one and looking forward to hooking up through the Caiman. :)
