Just found out today off my mum that the young soldier from Darlington who was killed in Afghanistan a few days ago was my cousin Karens boy John.

Just found out today off my mum that the young soldier from Darlington who was killed in Afghanistan a few days ago was my cousin Karens boy John.

Sorry to hear that Mike. :( Trouble is, we're all invincible at that age (assuming he's a youngster) and it's those left at home that do the worrying, and ultimately, the grieving.

Mike very sorry to hear that news, words fail to express how I feel about that and will not do justice to how you guys feel about it but know this, come the 11th of November this year and remembrance Sunday I will observe the silence, wear a poppy with pride and I will recall all those who have fallen including this recent fallen hero.

I hate it that anyone has died in these foreign lands and wish no one had or will again.

thanks guys, to be honest i didn't know him that well, he was 19 when he died, his mum Karen is my cousin, she's devastated, the worrying thing is his brother is in the Army too and he's also out in Afghanistan, i just hope he's safe, cos i don't think Karen could take any more news like that.
